Emily first found her way into a yoga studio in her early twenties, having spent much of her life avoiding any athletic activities. Discovering yoga presented Emily with an opportunity to develop a physical vocabulary and chance to recognize her inner strength. With well over a decade of practice and study, Emily continues to explore the depths of what yoga has to offer and develop a stronger connection with herself.
As the co-Founder of Boston Yoga Union, and mother of three young kids, Emily realizes that life is busy, fast, and intense. She believes a practice is a place to find a quiet strength and grace to carry back out into the world. Her classes offer space for exploration, expansion, and stability to her students. Emily focuses on weaving awareness and joy into intelligent sequencing that is strongly grounded in alignment and breath.
Emily has endless respect and appreciation for the teachers who have already walked this path and with whom she has had the chance to study, and is forever grateful for the community that gathers around yoga.
Her continuing studies have included but aren’t limited to Hands on Assists with Miles Borrero, Advanced Studies with Schuyler Grant & Nikki Vilella of Kula Yoga Project, and The Wisdom Body, an Iyengar Yoga teacher training program led by Nikki Costello and Lara Warren.
