Change your Perspective!
Take time this spring to turn your practice quite literally on its head!
Join Boston Yoga Union Co-Founder and resident alignment nerd Tim Kelleher for a four week series in which you will build confidence in your ability to use your hands, arms and head as your feet. You will explore headstand, handstand, forearm balance and shoulder-stand using the following principles:
Build the strength - Understand which muscles to use, and which NOT to use.
Understand the structure - Gain a clear picture of your structural placement even upside down.
Refine the balance - Learn to employ the right efforts to find ease and stability.
With smart sequencing, props, drills, partner work, and the wall - you will identify different techniques to employ in make inverting a regular part of your asana practice. As the program progresses you will explore methods of transitioning in and out of inversions in your regular flow classes, and using your newfound levity to add grace to all of your transitions - on and off the mat.
