2:00pm - 4:00pm
In this workshop you will explore the balance of stretch & strength in asana while using the work in the poses to move deeper with your practice
Join Maybelle to explore the art and science of Yoga and the blending of stretch (organic energy) and strength (muscular energy). We will examine the physics of your bodies and how it relates to asana, understanding one size does not fit all.
We will discover the beauty and energetic engagement, going deep, through the use of “paired actions”. God did not create us for Yoga rather He/She created Yoga for us changing our perspectives and using it, as it was intended, as tool enhancing our lives.
$35 Before May 12th, $40 after
About Maybelle Rowntree:
Maybelle has been teaching the Boston yoga community for years. She has been moving professionally in one way or another since the 60’s. Maybelle studied classical Ballet at the Boston Conservatory of Music (and even danced in this building). She was a demi-soloist with Boston Repertory Ballet and Bay State Ballet, and made guest appearances with New England Dinosaur and Concert Dance Company, and spent a summer with the Boston Ballet. Additionally, Maybelle taught beginner, elementary, and intermediate ballet classes.
Ballet morphed over time into fitness instruction, teaching Ballet for Athletes, and working in depth with individuals and groups through the 80’s and 90’s. Maybelle discovered and studied Pilates in the 00’s. When Maybelle found yoga she was able to combine her love of these movement modalities and her years of training and teaching into the methodology that she teaches and lives by today.
