Yoga for Living with Cancer and Survivorship

  • Back Bay Yoga Union 364 Boylston Street Boston, MA, 02116 United States (map)

Join Back Bay Yoga Union’s Becky Sail for slow flow and restore yoga class designed to support those living with, or survivors of cancer. Becky – a cancer survivor, or “aliver” as she likes to say – will create a space for community connection and lead you through a practice that understands the unique physical and emotional impacts that can come with cancer.

Whether it is your first yoga class, you are repairing your relationship with your body after surgery or treatment, or you are hoping to inhabit a space of shared experience, we hope you can join us on your mat. Allies including loved ones and caregivers are welcome.

Cost: Free, Suggested Donation to Dana Farber: $30

About Becky
Becky began practicing yoga right after college – initially in it for the “fitness” aspect. Following her cancer diagnosis at 22, she found that as she coped with the physical and emotional aspects of living with a chronic cancer, her practice evolved into something beyond what she thought was possible. Yoga has shown Becky that there is always a way “in” and the journey of discovery and healing through your body is endless.
Becky completed her 200-hour teacher training at Back Bay Yoga Union in 2022 with Tim Kelleher, Emily Jonas, and Caitlyn Visconte – all teachers she is immensely grateful for. When she is not at her day job in corporate communications, Becky leads several trips a year for First Descents – a non-profit that sends young adults impacted by cancer on a free week-long adventure trip white water kayaking, rock climbing, or surfing. It is on these trips she discovered her passion for teaching yoga and helping people feel safe, held, and seen.
